We all want the secret ingredient to stay young forever! Unfortunately there is no magic potion for that, so we have to take it upon ourselves to make sure we can prevent it as long as possible (well our looks at least). We have good news for you! We have found 6 foods to help your skin be young, fresh and radiant!
Consider turmeric a regular must-have. It been shown to help prevent cancer, and it contains curcuminoid pigments that turn on genes that enhance the body’s own synthesis of antioxidants. Turmeric also protects brain cells and skin cells from free radical damage, improving concentration and slowing the formation of wrinkles and fine lines.
2. Green Vegetable Juice
If you juice, pat yourself on the back. Juicing green vegetables breaks down the plant’s cell walls so the nutrients can quickly be absorbed and assimilated into the body with very minimal digestive effort, making it the quickest way to infuse the body with antioxidants, phytonutrients, enzymes, oxygen, chlorophyll, vitamins, and minerals. An eight-ounce juice is equivalent to two large salads with no dressing.
3. Arctic Char
Arctic char packs in all the benefits of salmon, but it is actually farmed in an environmentally sustainable manner, making it the preferable choice. It contains the same amount of omega-3 fats as wild salmon— 1300 milligrams per four ounces— which inhibit a wrinkle-causing enzyme. The omega-3 fats also improve the integrity of brain cells, which helps decrease brain fogginess. If that’s not enough, char also contains carotenoids, which improve eyesight and protect skin cells from sun damage.
Sushi lovers should be sure to add a hijiki appetizer to their next order. The black sea vegetable is rich in iodine, which increases the synthesis of the thyroid hormone, thyroxine, to boost the metabolism. Also, 40 percent of hijiki is fiber, which helps regulate hormones and enhances liver detoxification.
5. Hemp Seeds
Hemp seeds are actually good for your skin! They help improve firmness and radiance. They’re also the only edible source of gamma-linoleic-acid (GLA), an anti-inflammatory omega-6 fat, which forms part of the membrane that surrounds skin cells. Finally, hemp seeds contain 15 grams of protein per three tablespoons, making it an ideal protein source for individuals following a plant-based diet. The protein also helps to synthesize collagen and elastin, keeping skin firm and supple.
Need to atone for everything? Welcome to the antidote to your dietary sins. If you drink coffee, chlorophyll helps to negate its acidity. If you drink alcohol, it helps metabolize alcohol faster. If you eat non-organic produce or fish high in mercury, it helps remove these toxins. If you don’t do any of these things (Good for you!), it simply enhances your own vitality. Chlorophyll is the green pigment in all green plants, but can be bought in a concentrated liquid form made from nettles or mulberry leaves. So make sure to eat your greens! Spinach is the best form of chlorophyll.

We as women find that our hair can really affect our look! It’s one of our best accessories! When it doesn’t behave well then it is pretty much a nightmare. We also don’t always have the time to do the right things to take care of hair from nightly treatments to monthly trims and etc…. On that note we have found 5 tips that would be easy to incorporate into your everyday life to help your lovely locks!
1. Eat the RIGHT foods
Just like eating certain foods can improve your skin, choosing foods high in omega-3 fatty acids, iron and protein can lead to healthier hair!
2. Use the right tools (and avoid others)
Ask any hair expert what type of brush to use to tame your mane and they’ll all say the same thing: a natural boar bristle brush. The bristles help to distribute product and natural oils throughout the entire length of the hair. (Quick Tip: For those of you with coarse, thick hair, find a brush with a mix of nylon and natural bristles – natural bristles alone can be too weak for tangles). Bonus hair tip: Hair can snap when wet, so apply a drop of oil to ends before working out the knots. If you haven’t heard it before… Start from the bottom!
3. Ditch the daily shampoo wash
For coarse or curly hair, it is recommended only shampooing once or twice a week. This allows the natural oils to really do their job keeping the hair soft and shiny.” For most other hair types, he recommends shampooing every two to three days. With all the great dry shampoos out there, we don’t always need to shampoo every day. So if you need to freshen up on days you don’t shampoo, dry shampoo is a great alternative to boost your locks a bit. Faux Dry- Dry Shampoo by Blow Pro $20 (Ulta.com)
4. Loosen up your pony tail
If you’re noticing breakage in your locks, avoid hairstyles like tight ponies or French braids; the excessive pulling can damage your hair and promote breakage. If you need to get your hair out of your face, try a fabric tie instead of the traditional elastic – not only will it not leave the dreaded “ponytail crease” after you take it out, but it’s much gentler on your hair.
5. Nourish and repair
We get it – you don’t have time to apply a hair mask, put on a shower cap and blow hot air onto your strands for half an hour every week. That doesn’t mean there aren’t other things you can do to repair your strands. Use a leave-in conditioner after showering to boost moisture and nourish your locks. Here are is weekly mask to try: Catwalk by Tigi Oatmeal & Honey Deep Nourishing Mask ($20, amazon.com). If you do have time there are also great home remedy leave- in deep conditioner recipes! Below we found a easy recipe for you to try! We have found for you below! If you are in a desperate need for a trim and don’t have time to go into your beloved stylist to do it for you, Well its ok! You can trim your own hair! It is called “dusting” here is what to do: Grab small sections and snip above the split ends.
Wet hair is defenseless against hot tools. “Even in the backstage rush, I completely dry models’ hair first,” says stylist mark Hampton. If you hear sizzling, back off. And add a heat guard like Garnier Sleek & Shine Flat Iron Perfector mist ($4.50, walgreens.com)
Heat is great for cleansing. “I use the hottest water my client can take to cut grease and oil,” says Rihanna’s stylist, Ursula Stephen. But since high temps leave hair vulnerable, rinse out your conditioner with cool water, and blast with cold air after drying, to seal the cuticle. Our dryer pick: Toni & Guy Tourmaline Ionic Dryer ($40, target.com).
Do you only pat your hair a certain way because you couldn’t bare to think of parting it a different way? Well here is some news to make you think about doing something different. Years of constant pulling and stress create hair loss which will make your part WIDER! So move yours sometimes! This is a great way for you to try out new hairstyles and fun with it!
We all know that air drying our hair is the best for your locks but before you get out that excess water from your hair Squeeze don’t Rub! Rubbing your hair with a towel can rip the cuticle, so try gently squeezing instead.
